Interesting week , the week before I get a few days off for a wee ban ! Two winners both surprising. I was sure the ground was too soft for St Killains Run last week but he won well - admittedly it was a poor race but hopefully he will go well again next time. I ended the week with one ride at Carlisle on the appropraitely named Cash on Friday - I am sure a few of the locals backed it on a coincidence bet judging by the cheers when I was led in , but it was a surprise and a great training feat to get him back first time by Peter Monteith - his horses continue in good form.
This weekend Fit to Drive will have a small squeak at Bangor , I love the horse so hope she can run well at the end of a good season and tomorrow would think that doc Row will perform and should run into the three.

Cheltenham away
Well that is Cheltenham away and I was thrilled to see my good pal Paddy Brennan win the Gold Cup on Imperial Commander, Paddy is one of my best pals in the game and he throughly deserves his success. It was a good spectacle again to watch , one day I would love to ride a winner down there but today will settle for one at either Newcastle or Carlisle tomorrow.
Three rides today at Newcastle, Nelson de Ronceray will appreciate any rain and might run close to a place in the 2 mile hurdle I am not sure that St Killians Run will appreciate the rain but he needs to show more to figure anyway. Sundays sees a trip to Carlisle where any rain will help both Mirage Dor and Sinatas, Mirage Dor will probably be my best chance of a winner this weekend.
One final thought on Cheltenham from me, could they put on a race where only Wilsons could ride in the race - I will let surnames be included !!!

Busy busy busy
Good fast ground at Ayr and a barmy 12 degrees ! 9 rides across two days and looking forward to hopefully riding a few winners.
Friday - half chances with New Tricks probably best chance if the blinkers works well again - Saturday - like my book of rides some good quality performers with some nice races , nothing that stands out but looking forward to next couple of days as this period has been good to me again.

Kelso - Racing again - hopefully
A very busy day beckons at Kelso tomorrow with 6 rides ! cant believe it really as that is more rides with the weather than the rest of the week !
This is my good period normally for getting winners - the next 10 days so here's hoping!
I like Raysrock best of the 6 tomorrow, with most of the others having half chances. One of my favorite horses Wild Cane Ridge will have it all on at the weights but I hope he can get in the money and with that long run in you just never know ! Of the others it will be the second time I have sat on an Ebor winner in a race over hurdles, now who knows the first ?

I used to be a jockey !!!
I have lost 30 rides in the last 20 days due to the weather , gives stark warning to the lack of opportunities for the northern jockeys in the last month. I hope that the weather peps up for the weekend where I am hoping to have a good book at Kelso. The following week has always been good to me as well so come on Mr Mothernature gives us some warm dryer weather !
I see there are plenty of Cheltenham evenings coming and on a quick look at the races my Cheltenham each way double of the week from the north would be Kalahari King in the Queen Mother and Tidal Bay in the stayers hurdle.
