Busy Busy week

Rode out at Southwell today , tomorrow in at Howards and then off to Fakenham with a good chance on one of Noel Wilsons in the last. Hexham Weds, then big weekend - jumps season really starting to crackle.

Here are my ten to follow for the year -

Cue Card - what a great engine this horse has - looked immense on Friday at Cheltenham

Imperial Commander - sets the gold cup standard, think that Kauto and Denman might still have a say but think Imperial has a great chance of winning again

Big Bucks - just simply top class

and for those who follow 415 -

Solwhit - like him a lot as he battles and stays, will pick up lots of prize money in Ireland

Hurricane Fly - injured most of the season last year, has a good turn of foot

Golden Silver - fantastic in Ireland huge chance of winning a big race

and four from my trainers / rides -

Raysrock - like him a lot , real trier and should run well throughout the winter when fully tuned up

Dancedintothelight - very unlucky at Wetherby a horse that is well regarded if he improves his jumping

The Knoxs - like him a lot unlucky novicey fall last week but rides as class act

and the best for last Rocking Blues - as nice a horse as I have sat on for bumpers hopefully will be top class for the Dobbins

A winner this week would be nice with a busy weekend hoepfully yielding plenty of chances.

Jump Season starts to kick in !

Well with Wetherby upon us it feels like the jump season has started - by my early starts it def has ! Happy to ride my 200th winner since I last blogged, its funny I thought I had a few more !!!

With Rose and Howard starting to have more runners I am sitting on some lovely horses, Fortysecond Street and Royal Rosa ran well last week and I cant wait to ride Frankie Figg at Wetherby on Friday.

I saw a fantastic horse run last week at Aintree CUE CARD, looks a superb prospect and will surely take top order a must for you ten to follow fans.

Lets hope we get a winner at Wetherby or Carlisle over the next few days

Been a while !

Happy New jumps season everybody, thought I would drop you a line to start the ball rolling again with the Blog - I hope Twitter has kept you busy as I have nearly 400 followers ! @wilsonrenwick !

Glad I rode a winner on Saturday on SIERRA VICTOR, not the best race but he did it well and deserved the victory. I am enjoying the start of the season getting to sit on some lovely horses at Rose Dobbins, Peter Monteiths and Howard Johnson's and I am hoping I can ride plenty of winners in the next couple of months.

Season Ends ...........

Well I will be glad to see back of 09/10 season. 2 broken collar bones, broken nose and a disslocated thumb. Terrible weather and nowhere near enough wins- says it all that I finished on 13 winners - a season of Frankie Figgs - nearly!

I thought I would give you a few blow by blow moments though with questions compiled by my business manager !

Best Ride / Enjoyed the Most:
Frankie Figg

Best Horse:
Quewetwo

Horse most looking forward to riding in 2011
Colour Clash over fences

Favourite race track:
Ascot

Funniest moment:
One of the Valets - who shall remain nameless who has the habit of saying inappropriate things - one of which was the funniest moment !

Least fav moment:
Falling on Frankie Figg when he had been briliant

Favourite pundit/journalist:
Mick Fitzgerald

Ambitions for next year 2010/2011:
Not to have as many injuries, and make the most of new opportunities

Onwards to Perth and hopefully some chances

Hexham over the hills !

Off for a busy day at Hexham today with plenty of rides for the Gee Aker Malayo Handicap Chase day - sponsored in the main by some lovely owners Suzanne Ramsay and Nigel Williams after one of their ex race horses - I hope the sun stays out for their race day and invited party.

5 rides today starting off with the old warrior Prince of Slane - at his best he would pick these up and carry them - lets hope he does ! I have ridden the fav before on recent form he would win but he often doesnt run two races alike so hopefully we have a small each way chance.

Cash on Friday and Cast Iron Casey will run well - I was really impressed with Cash on Friday first time and as long as he doesnt bounce he should go well. Cast Iron is a really good horse and the step up in trip should help him in the feature race.

Of the other two both have place claims with the bumper horse being a lovely long term prospect for the MS Borders race club who have had many a nice horse in the past.On his bumper form County Colours would win so he must have a huge chance in the 3.30 - a race Howard Johnson won also last year.

Three on Friday

Three at Ayr on Friday , with Raysrock being the best chance for the in form Peter Monteith - not sure yet for Saturday but with no ride in the Scottish Grand National I shall be watching from the side sadly. I had a quick look at the fimal decs and even with top weight Killyglen would have to be the class horse and should run well - of the lower weights would think that Dom Dorgeval should run well as long as the ground isnt too quick and his race last week hasnt taken too much out of him - his trainer Nick Williams has a huge knack of getting horses to run well.
Cant wait for Perth next week , love the track and the welcome we get there and I hope that I can get a couple of good ones for Peter up there. Then after that we start again, the new season will hopefully bring some better luck and a sustained set of rides!
