It is that time of the year again when the Cheltenham festival horses start getting their spins, and I loved seeing Tidal Bay win again on Saturday. Howard Johnson has a lovely team of horses again this year and it is a shame that I don't seem to get many rides from there anymore,I used to love riding for both Howard and Graham. Graham Wylie is an owner that buys some lovely horses from the big flat yards and I thought that Ascendant looked like a horse to follow last week at Mussleburgh, that was a really nice race and he will take some beating in the Triumph Hurdle trial at Mussleburgh this weekend. Anyway back to Tidal Bay he loved the return to hurdles and I think he could run a race in the World Hurdle, I sat on him a couple of times at Howards - he is a real racehorse.
The other horse from the week from another stable also ran at Mussleburgh, Miss Abbey won the bumper and there were a couple of really nice horses out of the first three (the first 8 home are all useful) and that to me says that this was a decent bumper for the track - she could be an Aintree or Ayr type.
